The radar display is very good, but I would not rely on the forecasts. They have been way off for several months now. Not sure where they get the forecast data from. For example, here in Wisconsin, the National Weather service (NOAA) is predicting 2-5 inches of snow in the next 24 hours. This app is predicting 7-12 inches over the same time period.
No other source I looked at is even close to the amount indicated by this app. I have learned from experience to take whatever the app is predicting and cut it by at least 50%.
Same for rain forecasts. The radar is pretty though. Update 2/3/18 - another forecast fail. Snow forecast this weekend 2-5 inches by all local weather stations and NOAA. I keep using this app as it has the important storm radar + shows weather alerts, It's usully acurate, simple to use and offers unlimited USA locations. All without overcrowded busy screens of most widgets. I keep trying Weather Widgets as I'm attracted.to them, but end up uninstalling them and open up this is handy acurate li'l app instead:) No complaints!.Thank You for keeping it free and for decent, non intrusive ads at the bottom of screen!
Oh: If changes were possible: I'd request simple push notifications of severe weather alerts of my choice & locations (via icon & sound??). For health reasons I'd be glad if humidity levels could be added.
Would enjoy option of it in a clean, simple Widget format if possible. Lastly, with family in Europe, it would be awesome to readily be aware of their weather as well. But, even without those functions - it's a keeper!
The grayish-colored reflectivity appearing in the two-hour radar loop above, spanning from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. CST Wednesday, indicates the gaggle of geese flying over northeastern Arkansas in hopes of catching up with the ISS. In reality, they can't physically catch it since the ISS is in space and the geese are likely flying just a few thousand feet above the Earth's surface. A couple hours later, NWS-Memphis checked on the geese again. The determined animals had slipped below the main Memphis radar beam but were spotted by a smaller tower radar near the Mississippi River in Tunica, Mississippi. The birds were detected using differential reflectivity from. This particular radar feature can be used to detect non-meteorological radar echoes such as birds and insects, in addition to its normal precipitation detection function. We've seen this occur one other time in recent years during another U.S. Hurricane landfall. As it moved near the coast of North Carolina in 2014. Traffic on Interstate 20.
(NWS Dalls/Fort Worth, Texas), that its radar was detecting traffic along Interstate 20 southwest of Fort Worth. In the image below, the NWS said that the pink spots show cars and trucks moving away from the radar site at about 60 mph.
In cases with a warm layer of air just above the surface, and relatively cool air near the surface, Doppler radar can detect traffic, most commonly at night. Turbines from the Bulter Ridge wind farm in Wisconsin mess with radar data. (NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan) Energy created by wind farms can mess with radar results. The Butler Ridge wind farm west of Milwaukee is one example. According to NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan, turbines stretch about 400 feet into the air, and sit within the line of sight of the NWS doppler radar in Jefferson County, Wisconsin.
'A small part of the electromagnetic energy radar beam sent from the radar is reflected back by the rotating turbines,' the NWS said. 'The radar processes this 'returned energy' as an area of precipitation and plots it accordingly on the map,' which you can see circled in yellow.

This has become my favorite weather app.
I like the very simple pull down menu interface. I also like the easy access to the full text forecast discussions from the local weather service offices, as well as text versions of the watches and warnings. The easy access to graphical 'old fashioned' weather forecast maps is also nice. The developer is also very active with fixes and improvements. I don't think he deserves loosing stars for position accuracy or inaccuracies in local report data.

Those things are not his fault. The app simply defaults to the nearest reporting station based on your GPS location. This app is not a specialized storm chaser or model analysis app. But, it is an excellent interface with local NWS offices. I highly recommend it!
